American Sign Language Teacher (1.0 FTE) – CT Certification #024 – Other World Language
The Woodstock Academy seeks a full-time American Sign Language teacher to join its World Language program for the 2026–2027 school year. This position will teach secondary-level ASL courses and support students’ development of language skills and cultural understanding within a high school setting.
The successful candidate will:
- Promote 21st century educational excellence through the vigorous support of the mission and goals of The Woodstock Academy; and
- Facilitate individual, departmental and school excellence through the support of high-quality personnel, reinforcement of best instructional practices, encouragement of a culture of collaboration, and a focus on learning.
Minimum qualifications:
- Connecticut teaching certification or DSAP eligibility;
- Demonstrated excellence in secondary school instruction;
- Have knowledge of the best practices in anticipated openings and the ability to use instructional technology, and familiarity with a block schedule;
- Demonstrated excellence in human relations; and
- Positive attitude, integrity, collaboration skills, a cooperative attitude, and a sense of humor essential.
