Job Description Summary: The American Sign Language (ASL) and Interpreter Training Department. Faculty supports learning on campus and all distance learning modalities. Responsible to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success and creating an environment that promotes belonging for all. This position starts in August 2026.

Job Description:The ASL-Interpreter Training Department offers degree and certificate programs that equip students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed for interpreting careers. Our courses cover theory, ethics, culture, and cognitive processing to prepare students for entry-level positions or transfer to a four-year institution. Students gain proficiency in ASL through classroom learning, ASL lab support, and internships.

Required Education:

Master’s degree in ASL, Deaf Studies or Deaf Education or
Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in coursework
related to ASL, Deaf Studies or ASL Linguistics
In accordance with Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements. SACSCOC requirements may differ depending on the courses taught within the discipline.

Preferred Work Experience: Minimum of one year of non-teaching ASL-Interpreting work experience.
