Recertification
Welcome Back!
Welcome back to ASLTA! We are so glad you have decided to renew your commitment to professional excellence by reinstating your certification. We understand that circumstances can lead to a lapse, and we’re here to make your path to recertification as clear as possible. This page is your gateway to reaffirming that rewarding professional milestone. Please carefully review the recertification process outlined below. Your attention to these details is crucial for a smooth and successful reinstatement.
The ASLTA recertification application form can be found at the bottom of this page.
The ASL version of our Certification Recertication procedure is currently in production.
Step 1: ASLTA Membership
You must have either an ASLTA Associate-level or Certified-level membership before you can begin the ASLTA Certification process.
If you’re already an Associate or Certified member, please proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Letter of Rationale and Updated CV
Before submitting your recertification request, ensure you have your letter of rationale for your request ready and have updated your curriculum vitae.
Upload both into your Google Drive folder. If you don’t have access to your folder, please contact the Evaluation & Certification Director at Evaluations@ASLTA.org.
Step 3: Request Form
Now that you have completed the letter and updated your CV, please proceed with the remaining steps below. Then, submit the request form and fee at the bottom of this page.
If your ASLTA membership is not current, your application will not proceed. It is your responsibility to ensure that your membership is up to date. Verify your membership status by checking your ASLTA profile or contacting Treasurer@ASLTA.org.
Step 4: Request Decision
There are two possible outcomes of your application:
Approved: The Certifications & Evaluation Director has reviewed and accepted your letter, finding you to be an active member in the ASL education field. You will receive your revalidated certification.
Not Approved: The Certifications & Evaluation Director has reviewed your letter and either declined your request or found you to be an inactive member in the ASL education field for more than four years. You will be required to go through the certification and evaluation process again.
Note: Your recertification fee will be used to cover the certification application fee.
