Each Fall, the American Sign Language Honor Society sponsors the Chuck Baird Memorial National Art Competition, which recognizes outstanding student artwork with monetary awards.
Named in honor of the renowned Deaf artist Chuck Baird, the competition celebrates creativity while introducing students to the artists, artistic styles, and visual expressions of Deaf culture. Participants are invited to create original artwork inspired by Deaf culture, the American Sign Language (ASL) community, or the beauty and expression of ASL itself.
Students at all levels of ASL instruction are encouraged to participate.
All competition entry fees are due as a one-time payment and are non-refundable under any circumstances.
