ASLTA members are invited to submit nominations for the ASLTA Board positions shown below.
Voting will be completed online on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
Deadline to submit nominations: Monday, May 29, 2023.
Vice President

The first opening position is the Vice President. The person nominated or running for this position must meet the following qualifications: Their membership status must be in good standing for 2 consecutive years with no lapse in membership. They must hold either Master or Professional certification.
The Vice President’s responsibilities are: If the President is sick or unable to run a meeting the vice president takes over and operates the meeting. Should the president resign prior to the end of their term, the vice president will take over and become the president. The vice president oversees the bylaws, policies and procedures of ASLTA. The vice president ensures that the board members are compliant and are following the bylaws and policies of ASLTA. The vice president also engages in any duties as assigned by the president.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be in good standing for at least 2 years with ASLTA
- Have earned Master or Professional certification
- Have served on an ASLTA committee for at least 1 year
What does the Vice President do?
The Vice President shall serve in the absence of the President. They shall succeed to the office of President should that office become vacant prior to the expiration of the term of office of the President. The Vice President will oversee bylaws compliance and maintenance of Association policies and procedures. In addition, the Vice President shall perform all duties assigned by the President and approved by the Board of Directors.
Treasurer

The second opening position is the Treasurer. The person nominated or running for this position must be a member of ASLTA in good standing for 2 years with no lapse in membership and must hold either Certified or Qualified certification from ASLTA.
The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records and reporting of ASLTA activities involving monetary exchanges. The Treasurer uses Quickbooks to record all financial data within ASLTA. The Treasurer sits on the IPPG committee, which is the information, policies and procedures committee of ASLTA. The Treasurer is responsible to maintain all member records and payments and oversee the ASLTA website. The reason for overseeing the website is due to the website being connected to the financial operations of ASLTA; it is where members pay dues, certification dues, and other monetary transactions. The ASLTA board also assisted in mastering the website in collaboration with the Treasurer. Suppose a person is interested in running for treasurer and they do not have certification from ASLTA yet, they can still run as long as they obtain certification within one year from the date of being elected.

- Have served on an ASLTA committee for at least 1 year
What does the Treasurer do?
The Treasurer shall ensure that accurate financial records are kept and maintained, and reports are made at each Board meeting, and an audit is performed annually. The Treasurer shall obtain their ASLTA certification within one year of being elected to the position.
Communications Director

The third opening position is the Communications Director. To run for this position, the person must be an ASLTA member in good standing for two years with no lapse in membership and must hold either Certified or Qualified certification from ASLTA.
The Communications Director is responsible for overseeing all the social media communications, e-blasts, vlogs, information sharing working with advertisers and is the point of contact for the institutional members. For those that wish to advertise with ASLTA it is the responsibility of the Communications Director to engage with advertisers and disseminate their information. It is important for the communications director to outreach to the members and provide ASLTA communications and information.The Communications Director also sits on the IPPG committee which is the information, policies and procedures committee of ASLTA. The communications director uses Mailchimp for sending out e-blasts to the members and affiliated organizations.

Chapter Affiliation Director

The final opening position is the Chapters Affiliation Director. The individual nominated or running for this position must be an ASLTA member in good standing for 2 years with no lapse in membership and hold either Certified or Qualified certification from ASLTA.
The Chapters Affiliation Director is responsible to manage all affiliated regional or state chapters of ASLTA. The Chapter Affiliation Director communicates and collaborates with the affiliate chapters of ASLTA. The Chapter Affiliation Director ensures compliance with chapters checklist, making sure dues are paid, bylaws are current and compliant. The Chapter Affiliation Director communicates and meets with regional and state chapter leaders to discuss planning and future directions of the affiliate chapters such as operations, compliance and so forth. It is important that the Chapter Affiliation Director makes sure all affiliate chapters are in good standing and compliance with ASLTA expectations and to be sure the checklist is followed and yearly maintenance in good standing is achieved.
