Serving on ASLTA’s Board of Directors is an opportunity to help guide and shape the Association’s future while managing the day-to-day responsibilities of a national organization. Elections for different Board positions alternate every other year, and elected individuals serve terms of four years. Per Article 5, Section VII of ASLTA’s Bylaws, individuals may serve no more than two terms in any position, for a total of eight years. All ASLTA members who meet service requirements are eligible to join the Board of Directors and lead ASLTA. Help make a difference by leading ASLTA!
When a position is up for election, the Nomination Committee will notify members of the vacant position/s 90 days before the biennial ASLTA conference. Individuals may nominate themselves or another person (with that person’s consent); the Nomination Committee verifies the member is eligible for the position. For President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, nominations must be submitted no later than 30 days before the ASLTA conference opens. For Communications Director, Chapter Affiliation Director, and Professional Development Director, the nomination deadline is the first general business meeting at the conference.
Voting is done by electronic ballot and results are announced during the conference. The newly-elected Board member/s take office immediately.
